At Big Sky Gypsy our black Clydesdale mares were carefully selected to fit the qualities that we desire in our broodmares. They possess the conformation, bone structure, muscle pattern, and movement typical of their breed. All have attractive feminine heads, lovely thick manes and tails and nice feathering.
In addition to conformation, we carefully screened each mare for disposition. They are all people friendly “pocket horses” that happily come up to people in the pasture to be scratched and fussed over.

Skye is a more moderate sized Clydesdale mare. She is 7 years old and stands 16.0 hands tall. She is non-fading blue-black with three height white legs, several large belly spots, and an attractive irregular blaze.
Skye is an incredibly thick well-muscled mare that possess conformation Gypsy breeders appreciate. She is extremely short coupled, correct in her feet and legs, and strong in her loin.

Despite her size and thickness she moves with grace and style. Skye has a very small "sweet" head and unusual facial markings which she seems to pass on to her foals. She has an abundance of thick mane and tail and a nice amount of silky feather.
Skye is a pleasure to be around. She loves people and enjoys just standing nearby, hoping for a scratch or treat. |

Skye passes on her beautiful head and ears to her babies. She is pictured here with her 2004 Drum colt sired by Galway Warrior.
